finally was able to watch this gem of a movie.

and its depressing as hell.

makes you think how someone with so much promise can waste it away and be so selfish and self-destructive.

anton corbjin made a very good movie. shooting it in black white perfectly captured the state of ian curtis life and reflected well the times he and the rest of joy division lived in. sam riley is phenomenal as ian curtis. even better than how sean harris portrayed him in 24-hour party people.

how does that parable go again: so wonderful the purpose of the matchstick, to give light to the world even for the briefest moment.

i guess that sums up the brief life of ian curtis.
